• About

The Upbeat Boyz is a NEW Sydney-based male-voiced choir, established in 2020 after the COVID-19 Pandemic, specialising in pop arrangements. The choir unites people with the male voice, from diverse cultural backgrounds through the joy of singing.

The choir is approximately 30 strong, divided into high and low tenors, baritones and basses.

The goal of the choir is to put on a major concert each semester (2 per year) and to perform as guest artists for other events around New South Wales.

    Identity

The group is a mix of all ages, ethnicity and life experiences with people who share a passion of music through singing.

In singing we celebrate the diversity of, not only our "Boyz" but also our community, whilst also recognising the special connections we have with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their friends.

    Mission

To perform quality musical events to the best of our ability, that showcase the male voice and promote our message of difference, inclusion, acceptance and celebration.

    Music

We exclusively commission new arrangements of music across a wide spectrum of styles and eras from a growing community of talented composers and arrangers across the country.

We are always looking for new arrangers to join us on our musical journey so if that's you, please get in touch via our contact form.
